Moose on the Loose
It started with a squirrel.
A very smug squirrel.
He did a little tail wiggle on the fence, stuck out his tongue, and darted across the backyard.
Enter Moose — Addison’s enormous, floppy-eared, turbo-charged dog.
“Uh-oh,” Bubblegum said, poking his head out of Addison’s hoodie. “Moose has entered launch mode.”
“Moose, NO!” Addison yelled.
Too late.
Moose took off like a furry wrecking ball. He barreled through the flower bed, upended the bird bath, and demolished three gnomes and a lawn chair. All while barking like a moose-shaped foghorn.
“WHY do we name pets after wild animals?” Bubblegum groaned.
Addison whipped out her magical notebook.
“Okay,” she said, drawing furiously, “we need a squirrel decoy, a Moose-calming blanket, and maybe a snack-powered vacuum for cleanup.”
Moose thundered past them, still locked on the squirrel.
Addison drew a peanut butter-powered squirrel dummy and placed it in the yard.
Moose screeched to a stop. He sniffed. He licked.
He sat.
“Truce,” Bubblegum whispered. “The power of snacks wins again.”
Just then, a car pulled into the driveway.
“MOM’S HOME!” Addison yelped.
They sprang into turbo-cleaning mode.
Bubblegum zipped around with a broom. Addison used her drawing magic to regrow the flowers and reassemble the gnomes. Moose proudly drooled on the blanket.
By the time Mom opened the back door, everything was sparkling.
“Smells like peanut butter,” Mom said, suspicious.
Moose wagged. Addison smiled. Bubblegum fainted into the bushes.
